Get ready for third heatwave starting on Wednesday, nights to be uncomfortably warm as well
The Republic Hydrometeorological Institute (RHMZ) has warned that sunny and very warm weather is expected from Wednesday until Friday. The highs will range from 32 to 37 degrees Celsius.
As meteorologist Marko Cubrilo said, from Tuesday until Friday evening, an anticyclone will dominate the area, once again bringing in a flow of hot air from North Africa and that will create the third heatwave this summer.
"Until Wednesday, the temperatures will be reaching up to 30 to 34 degrees, then 33 to 37, and in some places, especially in the south of the region, the Adriatic and in the Pannonian area, the highs will reach close to 38 degrees Celsius in the shade. Nights will become unpleasantly warm again," said Cubrilo.
He added that cooler weather is possible around July 10, when simulations show a destabilization of the atmosphere, with heavy storms and thunderstorms.
"Next weekend, the highs would be closer to the average (but still above it) and could range from 27 degrees in the west to 32 in the east of the region. We will have to wait until about the middle of the month for a more substantial cooling, when somewhat stronger inflow from the northwest is possible. July will bring high temperatures with occasional cooler spells while the deficit in precipitation will be very pronounced, except in places where local showers will be somewhat more frequent."
