Milanovic: Serbia should decide between EU and Moscow; Vulin: Croatia should stop lecturing others
On the occasion of the ad Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban published in the Croatian media, in which he called on the EU to accept Serbia, President of Croatia Zoran Milanovic said that Serbia should fulfill the conditions for joining the Union and decide whether it supports the EU or Moscow.
"Serbia should fulfill the conditions, they should decide whether they are for the EU or if they are in Moscow. I have nothing against Moscow, but you need to decide, Brussels or Moscow, and the current government in Serbia finds it difficult to solve that, and it will need to be clear there," Milanovic said, according to his press service.
He added that it is "really bizarre for the prime minister of a small country to publish such manifestos."
The government of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban paid for an ad to be published Zagreb's Vecernji List, titled "On the Future of the European Union" that contained seven proposals, including Budapest's stance that Serbia should become a member of the EU, which provoked strong reactions among the Croatian public, while the Croatian Foreign Ministry said that Croatia does not share Hungary's position.
Vulin: Exactly how big is Croatia to be lecturing others
If our path to the EU is the path of curing Croatian frustrations and renouncing our friends, it is better not to go to the EU, said Serbian Minister of Internal Affairs and leader of the Movement of Socialists Aleksandar Vulin, reports Tanjug.
"If Milanovic is prohibiting Orban from thinking because he is the prime minister of a 'small' country, the question arises, exactly how big is Croatia when to be lecturing others. It's about Milanovic having a size complex, because he speaks on someone else's behalf," said Vulin, commenting on the statement made by the Croatian president.
