Big traffic jams at border crossings: Cars wait for 5 hours at Horgos, warning to drivers

Passenger vehicles are waiting for five hours at the entrance to the Horgos border crossing between Serbia and Hungary, and four hours at Kelebija's exit, the Border Police Administration announced this morning at 5:15.

Trucks are waiting at the exit at Batrovci for 240 minutes, at Sid for 360 minutes, said the Auto-Moto Association of Serbia (AMSS).

Also, drivers can expect very hot weather today, so they should take more frequent breaks while driving.

The vacation season increases the number of participants in traffic, as well as the possibility of a larger number of traffic accidents, warned the AMSS.

The construction season is also in full swing on the roads, new sections are being built, while work is being done to repave damaged surfaces.

According to the latest information from the public company Roads of Serbia, vehicles do not have to wait at toll booths.

Occasional traffic suspensions due to works

Occasional suspensions of traffic will occur in accordance with the dynamics of works on the Avala-Bubanj Potok road, on Sector 6 of the Belgrade bypass, due to installation of supporting pillars near Bridge No. 27, Roads of Serbia announced.

The section will be closed for 30 minutes at a time, several times during the day.

On the E-75 highway, in the tunnel Manajle in the direction of Nis, a truck is no longer in one of the lanes. Traffic has been normalized in that section.

On Niska Banja-Crvena Reka road, there will be traffic suspensions until October 26 due to increased maintenance works. Alternative routes are Niska Banja-Prosek and Prosek-Crvena Reka.

On the E-75 highway, Beska-Maradik, works will be under way until August 31 to repair the Patkine Vode bridge, the right lane is closed for traffic in the Novi Sad-Belgrade direction, while two-way traffic is taking place in the left lane, in the Belgrade-Novi Sad direction.
