Albanians announce building a road near Visoki Decani monastery, contrary to all rules and laws
President Aleksandar Vucic stated on Tuesday that the president of the municipality of Decani announced the construction of the street, which, he stressed, is contrary to all rules, adding that we rely on the EU, the US and western powers to stop the attacks on the Serbian Orthodox monastery of Visoki Decani.
Speaking after several deputies in the National Assembly yesterday, regarding the protection of cultural heritage, Vucic said that the president of the municipality of Decani, whom he described as a "strange man" - while the municipality is almost 100% Albanian - has announced the construction of the street.
He pointed out that this is contrary to all rules, the law on zones and executive decisions which say that it is possible to build only a local road and a bypass.
"We are afraid that this is a new attack on Visoki Decani, that man is very strange, but those who support him in that intention are sitting in Pristina. We rely on the EU, western powers, the United States, to help us on that issue, to stop this attack on the monastery of Visoki Decani," said Vucic.
The president of the municipality of Decani, Baskim Ramosaj, said that the works to build Manastiri Street are continuing, and added that other projects will continue as well.
When it comes to property, Vucic said that an article on Wikipedia stating that we have 58% of property in Kosovo and Metohija is not true, especially not in accordance with what the West recognizes as property.
The 58% of that should be - 29% state, 14% social and 15% church and private property.
"When we started talking about property, we quickly stopped because we adhered to certain principles, while the West recognizes some others and we don't have many trump cards that the West will accept," said Vucic.
We don't have that much property, because it would not be realistic to have 6% of the population, and that percentage of property, Vucic added.
"The fact is that they made the decision to accept, God knows according to what rule, that everything that was state property, unless it is exempt by law, belongs to so-called Kosovo. In addition, 14% of socially-owned property has been mostly privatized, mostly by Albanians and foreigners, and to a smaller degree by Serbs, primarily in the north of Kosovo and Metohija," said Vucic.
When it comes to church property, he said, it is not even close to 15 percent, but Pristina does not allow us to keep even that property and as inviolable, as it should be in accordance with western principles, the president of Serbia stressed.
