Vucic: Battle of Kosare heroes will have place of honor during military exercise on Mt. Pester
Addressing the deputies in the Serbian Assembly, the president of Serbia spoke about the fighters from the 1999 Battle of Kosare and said that they will have a place of honor at the upcoming military exercise on Mt. Pester.
"The strength of the Serbian army is ten times greater. I said that they should bring Kosare fighters to Pester, 48 hours passed, and they told me that it could not be done. They said that many have records, because they committed some violations, so they supposedly couldn't be in the presence of the president. I invited them all for a conversation, they said that everything I received was true. Then I asked the person who brought me the file, was he there? When we were supposed to defend the country, we sent them, because we thought we would be very smart if we stayed here in Belgrade. When I asked that question, they (the veterans) said that was not their mindset," the president recalled.
Vucic said that all the surviving heroes from Kosare will be at the military exercise on Pester, seated near him.
"I want to show them respect, to never be ashamed of our fighters again, but to be proud of them," said the president.
