Directors and pilots make claims worth millions: What is left behind Montenegro Airlines?

Former directors, pilots, flight crew and other employees of Montenegro Airlines, which has been in bankruptcy procedure since May, have reported claims of 17.2 million euros for unpaid salaries, taxes, contributions, daily wages and fees to the Bankruptcy Administration, the Podgorica newspaper Dan has reported.

Bankruptcy manager Sasa Zejak accepted the 17.2 million euros in claims, while he disputed 3.8 million, which means that employees reported a total of 21 million in claims in the bankruptcy procedure.

The claims were reported by a total of 666 employees, among which the highest are those made by pilots, directors and technical staff, the list of claims shows, writes Dan.

After 26 years, the national airline Montenegro Airlines suspended traffic on December 26 of last year, some 20 days after the the new government led by Zdravko Krivokapic was formed, which saw shutting down the company as the only solution due to accumulated debts.

In the meanwhile, the Montenegrin government has formed a new national airline, ToMontenegro.
