Storm causes damage in Sabac: Water flows through streets, floods homes and cars

A big storm hit the area of ​​Sabac this morning, with a large amount of rain and hail falling. The storm was so strong that water flowed in streams down the streets.

As can be seen in photos and videos taken in this city, people wore rubber boots making it through the water, as it entered garages and basements.

As Telegraf.rs has learned, the water had to be pumped out, while the sewage system could not receive that much water, which is a regular occurance.

The downpour was so strong that water level in one garage was more than a meter as cars were flooded almost to the roof.

Heavy rain and hailstorms started around noon in the capital as well. The storm also hit Cacak, that saw hail and lightnings.

In the next hour in the Srem, Macva and Kolubara districts, as well as in the wider area of ​​Belgrade, there will be heavy showers, thunder and hail, as well as short-term strong winds, the Republic Hydrometeorological Institute has warned.

The orange meteorological alarm is in force, which indicates potentially dangerous weather.
