Although the obligation to wear masks is still in force in Greece, the country is slowly easing its epidemiological measures.

Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management Nikos Hardalias announced that the new measures will take effect on June 12.

One of them will make our tourists, especially those who are fans of Greek music, particularly happy.

"Starting on Saturday, June 12, music will be allowed in outdoor parts of hospitality establishments that are intended for seating guests," Hardalias said, according to Civilprotection.gr

The duration of the curfew in Greece has also been shortened. From Saturday June 12, the curfew will last from 1:30 am until 5 am local time. Hardalias also announced that the curfew will most likely be abolished starting on July 1, if the current epidemiological situation allows it.

Other measures have been announced during a press conference, but they are mainly focused on the local population.

"And now we know very well that any kind of negligence can be fatal for many others. But we also know very well how we can deal with it, how to protect ourselves and those around us. By observing sanitary measures and protocols, which have been our shield since the first day of the pandemic, through the vaccination program and creation of collective immunity, we will be able to leave this unprecedented situation behind," Hardalias added.
