Chief of Cacak Emergency HQ tells Telegraf: Citizens fear, life is normal, we're waiting for report

The situation in Cacak is stable for now, citizens are worried, but life goes on as normal. This has confirmed for Telegraf by the Chief of the City Emergency Situations HQ in Cacak, Bratislav Zecevic.

As he stressed, conditions are being created for the return to normal life in the settlements that were most damaged after the explosion in the Sloboda defense industry factory.

"What I can tell you is that we are working on stabilizing the electrical grid, to give people conditions for a normal life. Last night, the sector for emergency situations evacuated citizens who were in danger. By the way, the city HQ did not receive any requests for deploying members of the civil defense," he explained.

The extent of the material damage is still unknown.

"We are waiting for reports from the police and the military sector who are dealing with that."

Sloboda factory workers will not go to work today. Unlike them, other people in Cacak continue with their daily lives and activities, we have been told.

"Life is going on normally for now. Citizens who live in the vicinity of the factory are certainly still afraid, but others are functioning quite normally. I was at work a while ago, I walked through the city center, everything seems to be the same as before. Of course, we will only see what the consequences will be when the competent services determine whether there has been any pollution, and so on."

Since the plant is a part of the defense industry, the investigation is being carried out by state authorities.

Otherwise, Telegraf reporters are on the ground, where they noticed that the situation is much calmer this afternoon.
