Shocking situation repeats in Belgrade: Stench spreads from apartment, mummified corpse found inside

Residents in Mite Rakica Street Belgrade's Zvezdara municipaly were smelling an unpleasant odor spreading from one of the apartment for days. Eventually, the police were called. They came, knocked on the door of the home, which was opened by a female person who lives there.

After entering the apartment, the police found a mummified body on a bed.

This was most likely the brother of the woman. As confirmed by the Ministry of the Interior for Telegraf.rs, the body was found in an advanced stage of decomposition. The man was born in 1931.

The woman is known to the staff of the psychiatric hospital Laza Lazarevic, where she has been transported. Namely, she was hospitalized five years ago - after it was discovered that she was living in the apartment with the corpse of her mother.

An investigation is ongoing, the Ministry of the Interior said last night.
