Clear message on withdrawal of KFOR and UNMIK from Kosovo and Metohija: Vucic meets with Stoltenberg

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic on Monday met in Brussels with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, and the topic of the meeting was cooperation between the two sides, but also a world power that will demand the withdrawal of KFOR and UNMIK from Kosovo and Metohija.

Stoltenberg stated that NATO allies are completely committed to KFOR.

"NATO and the UN remain committed to KFOR based on the UN mandate. There is no change in the plans, when it comes to the KFOR mission," said Stoltenberg.

He also stressed that NATO fully respects Serbia's military neutrality as a sovereign nation.

When it comes to the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, he said that he believes it is the best platform for finding a solution to the benefit of all citizens, which would guarantee a better and more prosperous future for all.

"It guarantees a better and more prosperous future for all. That is why constructive dialogue is important. I would appeal on all participants to participate in it constructively," he said.

Stoltenberg said that many security challenges facing the Western Balkans were discussed during the meeting.

He said that NATO is committed to peace and stability in the Western Balkans, and that it has been making efforts in that area for decades. The KFOR mission, he says, is the best proof of that commitment, because that mission provides a peaceful environment, freedom of movement for everyone in Kosovo and Metohija, based on the mandate of the UN Security Council.

Vucic said that they discussed different issues that are important for the entire region, and once again stressed that he was satisfied that Stoltenberg respected the statehood and sovereignty of Serbia.

"I think that it will bring more calm, not only to human hearts in Kosovo and Metohija, but in the entire region. We discussed all the various issues that are important for the entire region, and I am very pleased with Stoltenberg's statement, which respects the statehood and sovereignty of Serbia. I am not mentioning that anyone was forced to act differently.

We consider ourselves partners and will mark the 15th anniversary in November, Partnerships for Peace, I invited Stoltenberg, and I hope that he will visit Serbia in November, and that will be a confirmation of our good relations, but it will also encourage our relations going forward," says Vucic.

"Serbia is completely committed to the dialogue process and we will do our best to reach a compromise solution. We know that this is a process under the auspices of the EU, and we hope that we will have the strength to complete the process in a positive way. We need to preserve peace and stability instead of having unrest and violence," added President Vucic.

"Serbia will reserve its neutrality, but that does not mean that we will not increase the level of our joint activities. I am sure that we can do more in different fields and spheres," said the president of Serbia.
