Montenegro extraditing Lazar Ilic to Serbia: He's suspected of killing Sarac in Usce Shopping Center

Lazar Ilic from Kraljevo will be extradited to the Serbian authorities, who are looking for him on suspicion that he killed Aleksandar Sarac in Belgrade in October 2020, the Appellate Court of Montenegro has decided, RTCG writes.

Ilic was arrested on January 22 in Budva, on suspicion of preparing to kill a person of security interest from that municipality.

After the arrest, a photo of a Budva resident was found with Ilic, whom, as the police concluded, he planned to kill.

The police operation was led from Podgorica, by the Sector for the Fight against Organized Crime and Corruption, with the help of members of the Budva criminal police.

The municipality was under blockade for a full two hours, as a police patrol controlled all the cars at the entrance to the city near the Park Hotel, while another one was on the bypass.

A few months before he was handcuffed in Budva, Ilic, according to what the Belgrade police suspect, fired from a 7.65-millimeter Beretta pistol with a silencer, shooting Sarac in the garage of TC Usce.

As he was fleeing the scene, Ilic threw the gun into the bushes in front of the shopping center, where forensic experts later found it.

It was established that serial numbers were erased from the pistol, which was an aggravating circumstance as the forensic experts were determining the origin of this weapon.

No fingerprints were found on the gun, which indicates that the killing of Sarac was very professionally planned and carried out.

"Ilic is suspected committing the criminal offense of aggravated murder along with the criminal offense of illicit production, possession, carrying and trafficking of weapons and explosives," said the Appellate Court.

The decision states that on this occasion, Ilic deliberately endangered the lives of other people who found themselves in the parking lot.
