Daughter of Petar, who passed away at VMA: "Body was in toilet for 4 days, cleaning lady found it"

Petar Simic (82) disappeared on May 1 at the Military Medical Academy (VMA) in Belgrade, and his daughter Maja was informed four days later that her father had passed away and that he was found inside the building of this institution.

"Ever since I received the call to informing me that my father had passed away, I have not had any specific information. It was only when I went to see the body and pick up his things, that I found out that my father had been found in the toilet at the Military Medical Academy," Maja told Telegraf.

She says her father went to the emergency clinic of the Military Medical Academy in the morning (of May 1) because of stomach pain. He handed over his health insurance card at 8.40, and then waited for hours to see a surgeon.

He informed the family at 2.45 pm that day that he had still not been examined, and was very angry. After that, they lost all contact with him because his phone turned off.

"This is truly unacceptable. His body was in the toilet for four days. It was only today that the cleaning lady found him. I passed by that toilet twice and thought about going in to check if he was inside, however, I thought that in four days someone would have gone there to clean it and find him," she adds.

Both Maja and her mother called the hospital several times, went there to look for him, posted notices inside the building of this institution, not even suspecting that Petar was there all the time.

The Military Medical Academy told our portal that the patient was registered at 8.40 in the morning, but that they did not know what happened to him afterwards. After the body had been found, we received no further comment from this institution.
