Serbia's Viktor Troicki is ending his tennis career!
The head coach of the Serbian tennis national team, Viktor Troicki, has decided to finish playing active tennis this year and dedicate himself to coaching, he revealed to Objektiv.
"I am already very much a sports veteran. I'm slowly finishing my career, soon, the plan is to play a couple more tournaments. I've reconciled myself to finishing this year. I am switching to other sports-related jobs, but more as a professional coach. I'm looking forward to this new task, new challenges and I hope that it will go well," said Troicki.
Troicki also commented on the recent tournament in Belgrade and pointed out that it's lucky to have such a competition in our country.
"One tournament is guaranteed to stay. A license has been taken for each year, and for the second, we took advantage of the change in the date of the French Open which left one week free. Cities that could applied, and fortunately, Belgrade got that tournament. It won't be happening every year. But these two tournaments are an amazing thing for our players, to be able to play at home. Impressions from this first one were great, although the weather bothered us a little, but everything was well organized. Foreigners in particular were pleased. A nice opportunity for younger players like Hamad (Medjedovic) to play with the best in the world. We can't wait for the next tournament in May," Troicki concluded.
