Construction of 600-bed Covid hospital in Novi Sad begins: Here is when it will be finished
The cornerstone for a new Covid hospital will be laid today in Novi Sad.
Deputy Mayor of Novi Sad Milan Djuric said that the estimated value of the investment is 3.9 billion dinars, and that the city provided 250 million dinars. According to him, the hospital will have 600 beds and will be equipped with the most modern medical devices.
When the coronavirus epidemic passes, this medical facility will become a general hospital that will provide better treatment to all citizens.
President Aleksandar Vucic will attend the start of construction works on the hospital.
Vucevic: It will be finished by September 1
Novi Sad Mayor Milos Vucevic said today that he expects the Covid hospital in that city to be completed by September 1, for which the cornerstone is being laid today.
Vucevic said that the Covid hospital in Novi Sad will have close to 600 beds, of which 400 in semi-intensiv and 200 in intensive care.
"A fantastic day for Novi Sad and Vojvodina (province). After Batajnica and Krusevac, Novi Sad is also getting a hospital that will be a Covid hospital in the first phase, and later an institution available to everyone who needs hospital treatment," Vucevic told TV Prva, Tanjug reports.
The mayor said that the coronavirus pandemic showed that countries that have a stronger healthcare system win, not only in terms of medicine and health, buta also in terms of the economy.
