Trumpet will probably sound in Guca this year: "We're ready for festival, it got canceled only once"

Last year, coronavirus canceled all events by which Serbia is recognizable around the world. After it was announced that the Exit festival will most likely be held this year in Novi Sad, trumpet and violin capitals are also hoping for some good news. A meeting of the Organizing Committee of the Assembly of Trumpet Players is expected in Guca soon, when all the details related to the holding of this festival should be determined.

"The Trumpet Festival in Guca is a tradition, the event has been canceled only once in its long history, due to coronavirus. It's not an event that is visited by 2 or 3,000 people, but by tens of thousands. In the technical sense, we are ready for the Assembly to be held, which we would like the most, but noting that everything still depends on the epidemiological situation. Considering that immunization is going according to plan in the entire country, as well as in our municipality, we hope that we will gain collective immunity by August and that the Assembly will be held," Milivoje Dolovic, president of the municipality of Lucani, told RINA.

In Gornji Milanovac, they also expect that this August the Festival of Violinists will be held on the slopes of Mt. Suvobor in the town of Pranjani, which is at the same time the most visited event in this municipality.

"We hope and believe that our country will defeat the greatest plague of the 21st century by vaccination by the beginning of summer and that our fellow citizens will finally gather again in Pranjani, to celebrate victory of life over death, but also in honor of the queen of all instruments, the violin," said the president President of the Municipality of Gornji Milanovac and of the Assembly Board, Dejan Kovacevic.

Guca is a very important and large-scale festival of trumpet players, while the Festival of Violinists of Serbia, which is held in Pranjani, although relatively new - having been founded in 2019 - gathered over 50,000 visitors when it was last held.
