General Director of Telekom Serbia Vladimir Lucic says that some strong foreign telecommunications companies are interested in cooperating with Telekom, which is close to an agreement and signing of a partnership agreement with one of the strongest telecommunications players.

Lucic told TV K1 that he could not "show his cards" yet and announce which company he was talking about.

"I think we are close to an agreement, not to reveal all the cards, with one of the strongest telecommunications partners. The signing of the contract is close," said Lucic.

Asked who is interested in cooperation with Telekom and what that means, Lucic said that Telekom has been contacted by some large global companies, such as Telefonica and Vodafone.

"They are trying to create partnerships with us, because they recognize us as leaders in the region, share ideas, services and be our partners, who would take a certain number of services from us and give us a certain number of services," said Lucic.

This, he added, will mean that Telekom will be able to expand through these partners to the countries where they provide their service.

"We are looking for partners in strong telecommunications companies that would help us expand to EU countries, America and Canada, in order to take that part of the diaspora and the market," Lucic pointed out.
