A 29 years old woman who had given birth and was infected with coronavirus died at the Clinical Hospital Center (KBC) Dr. Dragisa Misovic in Belgrade, where she was hospitalized because of this disease, Telegraf.rs has learned.
She is one of two pregnant women who, at the end of last week, had to give birth urgently by c-section because of their serious health condition caused by Covid 19.
As we have learned, she lost the battle with Covid three days ago.
The head of the pediatric department of the KBC Dr. Dragisa Misovic, Olivera Ostojic, confirmed this morning that a 29-year-old new mother who was infected with coronavirus had died in that health institution.
Ostojic told K1 television that the baby was well.
At the end of last week, two pregnant women were placed in intensive care due to complications caused by Covid.
The doctors immediately decided to transfer them to the operating room and perform early c-sections, after which they were connected to ventilators.
A girl and a boy that were born then were immediately tested for Covid and both tests were negative. The babies are in good condition.
