Only in that way can we suppress sexual violence," Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and President of the Coordination Body for Gender Equality Professor Dr. Zorana Mihajlovic said today.

Reacting to Lecic's address to the actress who has accused him of rape, she said that with this gesture, he continues to belittle both Danijela and all victims of violence.

"The hypocrisy that probably comes from that feeling of power, 'do you know who I am', aims to discourage women from reporting violence, thus putting a stigma on the victims and belittling them. Serious manipulation. Sexual violence exists, as well as psychological, physical, economic. It's important to recognize it and encourage women to report it. That is why, I repeat, no one is so powerful and strong that justice can't reach them," she said.

Prosecution: Lecic to give a statement to the police on Friday

Actor and director Branislav Lecic has been invited to give a statement to the police on Friday regarding the allegations made by actress Daniela Stajnfeld that he raped her in 2012, the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office told Tanjug last night.

The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office, in cooperation with the police, is conducting a pre-investigative procedure regarding Stajnfeld's allegations.

Prosecution spokeswoman Ivanka Rakocevic specified for Tanjug that Lecic was invited to the police for an informative conversation.
