Twice as many patients are admitted than discharged each day: Covid is raging in this Serbian town

Kraljevo is one of the six cities in which the number of new daily coronavirus cases has been higher than 100 for days.

There are almost no beds in the intensive care unit of the infectious diseases ward of the Kraljevo hospital. Every day, the number of new patients is twice as high as those who get discharged.

The director of the Kraljevo Healthcare Center, Mira Krcevinac, says that last night was very dramatic and that the Emergency Service was very busy, RTS reports.

In the last 24 hours, about 400 people were examined in the Covid clinic, says Krcevinac, and adds that 156 people tested positive yesterday.

The immunization is going very well, the director pointed out and said that they had a very successful campaign of vaccinating the elderly in rural areas.

"I expect that campaign to end today, but also that it will continue in the coming days," Krcevinac concluded.
