Brazen theft in Zrenjanin: Somebody steals 81 kilos of food meant for abandoned dogs
The Association for the Care of Animals of Banat "Beta" from Zrenjanin announced on Facebook that 81 kilograms of dog food had been stolen from them.
"These were salamis for dogs that were paid for with money from donations, and a so far unknown person took every last one of them. We are expecting footage from surveillance cameras in order to shed light on this truly brazen act," said the association's Gorana Beaverhousen, the I Love Zrenjanin portal is reporting.
"Beta" said earlier that they had been left without food for abandoned animals and that they were asking donors to help them.
"In addition to all the troubles and debts we have towards vets, this has now also happened to us. We ask individuals and legal entities to be aware if someone offers them this type of dog food for sale," the group said on its Facebook page.
In the meantime, however, some good news has arrived, as a pet store decided to replace all 81 kilograms of the stolen food.
"Thank you so very much! Thanks also to a few people who called to help, but they were also told that everything that was stolen will be compensated for thanks to the people from the pet store," the association said on Facebook.
