Montenegro reintroduces curfew, but they plan even stricter measures?

In Montenegro, a curfew and restricted opening hours of cafes and restaurants have been reintroduced, and in some cities schools will switch to online classes. Director of the Institute of Public Health Igor Galic says that this is just the beginning of rigorous measures, given the epidemiological situation.

Galic, who was on RTCG this morning, asked the citizens to understand these measures as a special warning.

"I ask citizens to understand these measures as a special warning before some much more rigorous measures, although it will all depend on the epidemiological situation," he added.

The difference in the opinions of the working bodies was, as he says, related to PCR testing when entering Montenegro, the RTCG portal reported.

"Bodies such as the Commission and the Council have stressed that we are a tourist country and that we must remain open for as long as possible. PCR will not protect us from the virus entering the country, especially when local transmission is so widespread," said Galic.

"23 people have been tested on suspicion of having the British strain of the virus and 17 who were positive and who were sent for checks," said Galic and added that these results will be immediately revealed to the public.
