Minister Vulin: Migrants must, and should be in camps
Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandar Vulin said today that the asylum seeking system of Serbia is one of the most organized in Europe, and that migrants must be in their camps.
Minister Vulin, who together with Police Director Vladimir Rebic and Commissioner for Refugees and Migration Vladimir Cucic visited police officers who carried out an operation to find irregular migrants in Belgrade early this morning, pointed out that the Ministry of the Interior cares about the safety of every person in the territory of our country and is taking care of everything that can endanger everyday life of all our citizens.
"Migrants must and should be in camps. Our asylum system is one of the most organized in Europe, we are humane and organized, but the law must be respected and our everyday lives must never, in any way, come into question," said Minister Vulin.
The minister warned that no one should take justice into their own hands and try to remove, punish or direct migrants without respecting the law, because the police and other institutions exist that are in charge of taking care of that.
"The state of Serbia is doing and will continue to do its job. It will take care of every person in its territory, regardless of where they came from. Serbia has shown that it is more organized, more humane, safer than many European Union countries when it comes to the migrant crisis," said Minister Vulin.
97 irregular migrants discovered in Belgrade have been transferred to a reception center in Presevo, and the police operation will continue.
