Russia favors balanced solution with UN Security Council approval: Vucic and Putin on Kosovo issue

Russian President Vladimir Putin conveyed to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic that Russia is committed to finding a "balanced solution" to the Kosovo issue, which should also be approved by the United Nations Security Council, it was announced in Moscow on Wednesday.

"The Russian side confirmed its principled position on finding a balanced solution that should be approved by the UN Security Council," the Kremlin said after a telephone conversation between the two leaders.

It is added that Vucic informed Putin about his assessment of the situation regarding a solution to the Kosovo issue, according with the contacts he had with foreign partners, TASS reproted.

A statement from the Kremlin noted that Serbia can count on Russia's support in resolving this, as well as other key issues.

The pandemic and deliveries of the Russian vaccine

After the telephone conversation between presidents of Serbia and Russia Aleksandar Vucic and Vladimir Putin the Kremlin announced that the leaders of the two countries focused on the efforts in the fight against the pandemic and additional deliveries of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine to Serbia.

"The two presidents focused on the suppression of the coronavirus pandemic, with an emphasis on wider cooperation in the field of vaccination, which includes additional deliveries of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V to Serbia," the Kremlin said in a statement.

It is added that the leaders of the two countries "continue to share their views on urgent bilateral and international issues," reports TASS.

The Kremlin said that Vucic and Putin positively assessed the mutually beneficial Russian-Serbian cooperation and pointed out to the successful implementation of large joint projects in energy, transport and high-tech sectors.
