Head of the GAK Narodni Front maternity clinic, Professor Dr. Snezana Rakic, who has allegedly been dismissed because she was coming to work infected with coronavirus, has told Telegraf.rs that it's true she has been sacked, but that she was not sick.

"It's true they replaced me. I was not sick. The story has a different context," Snezana Rakic told Telegraf.rs.

As media reported earlier, the head of the GAK Narodni Front maternity clinic has been removed from the managerial position and temporarily removed from work, while the sanitary inspection initiated a procedure against her because she endangered the health of colleagues, patients and babies because she was infected with coronavirus while coming to work.

"Professor Rakic traveled abroad and after returning to Serbia, did not respect the self-isolation measure, which she had to for 10 days since she entered Serbia without a negative PCR tests. Immediately after returning to the country, she went to work, and after a few days, a PCR test showed that she had coronavirus," sources from the hospital told the daily Blic.

They added that she endangered not only herself and her colleagues, but also mothers and babies, so it was quite logical that she would suffer consequences.

"The head of the maternity hospital Professor Dr. Snezana Rakic put patients, as well as her colleagues, at high epidemiological risk with her actions, which is a serious violation, as well as a violation of work discipline. This resulted in the temporary removal from work, as well as the dismissal from the managerial position," they told Blic at Narodni Front.
