16-year-old from Travnik who raped 3 girls sentenced to 8 years in prison
The Municipal Court in Travnik, in a non-final verdict, found an older minor from Travnik (in Bosnia-Herzegovina) guilty of three criminal acts of rape committed against three minors aged 10, 11 and 12, which happened in August last year in the Travnik municipality, the Travnik Municipal Court announced, Avaz reports.
A judge of the juvenile court found the 16-year-old from Travnik guilty on three counts of rape (one of which was attempted), and sentenced him to eight years in prison.
"Note that the maximum prison sentence for juvenile offenders is ten years, and the Court assessed the fact that the juvenile admitted to committing the crimes as charged by the Travnik Cantonal Prosecutor's Office, and sentenced him to imprisonment for the stated duration of time," the court said in a press release.
After the verdict becomes final, the minor will be sent to serve the sentence in the juvenile Orasje Penitentiary.
"It's important to stress that the investigation, as well as the court criminal procedure have been completed within five months," the court said in a statement.
