President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic is in Paris today, where he is meeting with President of France Emmanuel Macron.

Speaking about the construction of the metro in Belgrade, Vucic said that cooperation with France will be of key importance for the project and that he expects the construction of the first line by the end of the year.

As he said, he is grateful to his French colleague for his support and help, and added that the construction of the metro is no longer an election campaign promise, but reality.

Vucic also said that he is satisfied because economic cooperation between Serbia and France has been strengthened.

"On the path toward the EU, we have shown our capabilities. We are a country with the highest growth rate. We have good results and with larger investments from France and other EU countries, we hope that we will be able to reach a growth rate of 6 percent, which would make us the most successful country this year as well," said Vucic.

The Serbian delegation will talk today with representatives of the companies Alstom and Egis Rail, which are involved in the project of building the Belgrade metro, while the Serbian delegation will be presented with conceptual solutions regarding the appearance of the Belgrade metro cars, the Ministry of Finance announced.

In addition to Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali, the delegation includes Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Tomislav Momirovic, Deputy Mayor of Belgrade Goran Vesic and Director of Belgrade Metro and Train Stanko Kantar.
