Biggest dilemma: Here is exactly when pensioners will receive another 50 euros from the state
The new package of measures to support the Serbian economy and citizens will be worth 2.5 billion euros, and will contain four groups of measures.
The state will give the dinar equivalent of 30 euros in May and another 30 in November to all citizens of Serbia who register in May, and another 50 euros to pensioners. Pensioners will thus receive a total of 110 euros in assistance. Also, each entrepreneur and worker employed in micro and small companies will receive a total of 48,000 dinars (about 410 euro), which is one of the measures from the new package of measures to support to economy and mitigate the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.
Namely, the state will pay these workers three times 50 percent of the minimum wage.
One group of measures refers to direct assistance to citizens, so everyone who registers in May will receive 30 euros from the state in May and then again in November, while pensioners will get another 50 euros. Thus, pensioners will be paid a total of 110 euros.
And as we explained in the previous reports, all citizens of Serbia who register by phone in May will receive 30 euros two times from the state in May and in November, but the dilemma remained when pensioners would be paid an additional 50 euros.
As has been confirmed to us, the oldest citizens will receive the additional 50 euros in September.
Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali recalled that applying for the new package of assistance for citizens will start in April. Mali said that one part of the large package of economic aid is geared towards all adult citizens.
How to apply?
He announced that applications would start in April, and the method will be the same as last year.
"Whoever applies for the first 30 euros, will automatically receive another 30. It's not necessary to apply twice," the minister explained.
"Our oldest fellow citizens will receive an additional 50 euros, a total of 110 euros in aid for those we consider to be the most vulnerable," Mali pointed out.
In the first package of measures to help the economy and citizens, which was adopted at the end of March 2020, every adult citizen of Serbia received 100 euros.
All those who wanted to receive state aid of 100 euros had to apply electronically in mid-May via the website of the Treasury or via a call center. All that was needed for the citizens to do was click the "Submit application" button and enter their data there - their unique number, JMBG, ID card number, and the bank where they hold an account.
Citizens who did not have a bank account were able to choose one from a drop-down menu, and thus automatically apply for this assistance. In that way, a one-time dedicated account was opened for them, with no extra costs. After withdrawing the money, the dedicated accounts were shut down.
During the application, it was necessary to mark the field which confirms consent for the processing of personal data, and after the application, everyone was able to check its status.
Recipients of pensions and beneficiaries of financial social welfare registered for the payment of this one-time assistance automatically.
