Pacolli financially helping accused leaders of the so-called KLA who are detained in The Hague
The New Kosovo Alliance leader Behgjet Pacolli says that he spoke on the phone with former president of so-called Kosovo Hashim Thaci, who is in detention in The Hague on charges of war crimes, but that the conversation was not about political topics, Lajmi writes.
"Yes. I had two phone calls with him. We spoke normally, I didn't notice that he was suffering there. Thaci is very calm and justice will triumph," Pacolli said.
Asked what the former president thinks about the upcoming snap elections and the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija, Pacolli said that he did not discuss politics with Thaci.
Pacolli added that he would financially help all those accused before the Specialist Chambers (special court) for war crimes committed by the so-called KLA ("Kosovo Liberation Army").
"Regardless of whether they are my friends or not, they are there, facing justice and certainly deserve help. Even the public knows that I never withdrew from these issues and that I will stand behind what I said. I will help and I believe that other citizens will also help," said Pacolli.
The leader of the New Kosovo Alliance added that he believes the accused are innocent and will emerge victorious from the court proceedings.
