Montenegrin deputy PM Abazovic joins campaign against violence against women launched in Serbia
The Government of Montenegro published a photo showing Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic holding a paper with the words, "You are not alone!" pritented on it. In this way he joined a campaign to support women who were victims of violence.
"I support all women who have been victims of violence and I thank those who found the strength to talk about it. I encourage all women not to keep silent about violence! The state must act preventively and protect the victims of violence with all its mechanisms!," reads the caption to the photo published on the Instagram account of the Government of Montenegro.
Abazovic in this way joined a campaign launched after Serbian actress Milena Radulovic, together with several other young women, accused the owner of a Belgrade acting school, Miroslav Mika Aleksic, of sexual abuse.
After the news broke that shocked the entire region, more girls came forward accusing Aleksic of rape, after which he was arrested and is now detained for up to a month.
Numerous celebrities and public figures supported the actress and the others who experienced some kind of violence while attending the school in question, while photos began to spread on social networks with the message, "You are not alone!"
In this way, a message is sent to all women, victims of violence, in order to stop the perpetrators and abusers.
