436,000 Serbians applied for vaccination, Djerlek: "We are closer to victory over coronavirus"
By 8 pm on Wednesday, 436,000 citizens of Serbia applied for vaccination against coronavirus through the e-Uprava portal, State Secretary in the Ministry of Health Mirsad Djerlek said this morning.
According to him, the response of citizens for immunization is higher than expected, and it has increased in the last 3 to 4 days.
That, he told TV Prva, shows that the awareness of the citizens of Serbia is at a high level and that they know that the vaccine is the only salvation because there is no adequate cure for coronavirus.
Djerlek stressed that with seroprevalence of 30 percent, which is currently the case in Serbia, "we can put the epidemic under control."
Stefovski: So far, there have been no side effects
2,600 citizens received the vaccine at the Belgrade Fair during two days - 1,300 on Wednesday, and State Secretary in the Ministry of Health Aleksandar Stefovski said that so far there have been no complications and side effects and that everything is going well.
He told RTS that 1,200 citizens over the age of 75 will receive the vaccine today.
He said that there are no crowds and that citizens are showing up as scheduled.
Stefovski reiterated that the procedure is simple - every citizen should bring their ID card, when they come they fill out a form, an examination is performed and the vaccine is administered.
He pointed out that the Fair is disinfected every night.
