After a meeting with the immunization team, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic took questions from journalists and spoke about current topics from the country and around the world.

About Ramush Haradinaj's statement: Greater Albania is a threat to Serbia and the world

Commenting on Ramush Haradinaj's statement about unification of Kosovo and Albania, the president of Serbia pointed out that it was a statement coming from a "dangerous man" and that the creation of a Greater Albania was a threat to both Serbia and the world.

"That was uttered by a dangerous man, Ramush Haradinaj, and if he were to be elected as president of Kosovo, you would have a government and a president of, as they say, Kosovo, who are in favor of unification with Albania. We accept that as a political fact to which we will always react. The creation of a Greater Albania is a threat to Serbia and the region, Europe and the world, but there is no need to retaliate. We will have a good and adequate answer and citizens should not worry about that," Vucic stressed.

"Serbia is not a shallow stream that somebody will easily hop over," he added.

He said that he would like to hear more reactions from Washington and Brussels and from other global centers of power, because if someone in Serbia said something like of the kind, "they would almost, not to say it, but  bomb us."

About vaccines and helping the region

The assistance to North Macedonia - sending 8,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine is a brotherly and friendly move by Serbia towards that country and shows Serbia's responsibile behavior, which knows that it does not live in a "closed court" but cares about its neighbors, the president said.

"Let me respond in a natural and decent way. What good would it do us to be healthy if people in the neighborhood had countless problems? We can be happy and satisfied, if our neighbors are satisfied," he said and added that one offers help "when it's tough."

He said that Serbia would help as much as it canm adding that Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev was also resourceful enough, seeking and fighting for his country.

"It's not only a friendly and brotherly move towards North Macedonia, but it shows our responsibility, not to live in a closed court, but to have to help our neighbors, as they would help us, I am sure," said Vucic.

He added that he is certain that both Chinese and Russian vaccines would be popular in North Macedonia, while in Albania, these would be Pfizer and AstraZeneca, due to a different political attitude, but also pointed out that Serbia has no problem helping out Albania, and whoever needs it.

"If tomorrow someone asks us from the Serb Republic (RS), Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), how could we refuse? It is normal to help," said Vucic.

About the pace of vaccination

When it comes to the pace of vaccination in Serbia, the president said that there are different assessments, and that there are hopes that we can go up to 30,000 people a day.

"That would mean that we are saving several lives every day," Vucic points out and added that there will be problems, and that there will be queues in some places, and empty rooms in others.

He also referred to reactions to (Serbia acquring) the Chinese vaccine.

"I did not expect any reaction nor was there any. What are you going to tell me? Why, Vucic, did you take the Chinese vaccine, which is otherwise excellent? Should it be more important to me whether someone in Brussels will praise me, than the lives of Serbians citizens? Do you really mean that? One human life (saved) in Serbia is all the praise I need," he pointed out.
