Winter is the most difficult season for people living below the poverty line. These are the ones who spend their time crammed in shacks, basement apartments, with scarce heating and poor food.

The shelter for children provides refuge at least for the youngest, and it's the busiest when there's harsh winter outside.

This shelter now posted a touching photo on their Facebook page of a girl that was at the premises during a meal.

A plate of beans, a little salad and some bread. The most basic things that would be obtained in a workers' canteen, is perhaps the most beautiful thing that happened to this girl that day.

But, it's not just about a material gift provided by donors, and served by the workers at the shelter... Precisely the safety that children receive and the care that is invested in them, is what they need the most.

They will always be welcomed with open arms here, they will always have toys, friends and someone to hear them out. And a safe meal, hot water and playrooms, that's what these kids always miss.

"Food and bathing - these are our main activities these days when over 100 girls and boys come to us every day," the shelter wrote on its Facebook page.
