Serbia's national football squad might soon get a new head coach. Reportedly, all that remains is for the executive board of the Football Federation of Serbia (FSS) to confirm this decision and for the former Partizan coach, Savo Milosevic, to take over on the bench of the "Eagles."

However, has Telegraf later checked, Savo Milosevic has not accepted any offer, while the main candidate remains Dragan Stojkovic Piksi, who has been given a week to respond to the latest offer from the FSS.

Sportski Zurnal daily wrote earlier that Milosevic came to the fore after unsuccessful negotiations with Vladan Milojevic and Dragan Stojkovic.

It is also speculated that his assistant on the bench of Serbia will be Radovan Curcic, who was once the head coach of the Serbia squad himself, and who assisted Milosevic when he was the coach of Partizan FC.

Serbia will start qualifications for the World Cup in Qatar already in March, with the first opponent in the qualifications being the Republic of Ireland. The game will be played on March 24 in Belgrade. The group also includes Portugal, Azerbaijan and Luxembourg.
