Brothers who took part in bloody showdown near Sremska Mitrovica suspected of aggravated murder
Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sremska Mitrovica have ordered D.E. (38) and N.E. (35) to be held in detention for up to 48 hours, due to suspiciton that they committed the crimes of aggravated murder and illicit production, possession, carrying and trafficking of weapons and explosives.
It is suspected that yesterday, at around 8 o'clock, in the area of the village of Jarak, they used firearms to shoot dead two men, aged 43 and 37.
Due to the bodily injuries they suffered in the physical clash that preceded the murders, the suspects received medical tratment at the Sremska Mitrovica hospital.
The suspects will be brought before the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Sremska Mitrovica, along with a criminal compalaint.
The police are continuing to work to determine all the circumstances surrounding these criminal acts.
It was confirmed for Telegraf.rs yesterday that two men were killed in a shooting incident that took place at around 8.30 am in Jarak near Sremska Mitrovica. As we learned unofficially, the participants in the bloody showdown were looking for truffles.
The media reported that two brothers from Futog got killed, while the other two, also brothers, who surviving the clash suffered injuries to their noses and heads inflicted with axes and pistols.
