On December 2, at the Horgos border crossing, customs officers in cooperation with the police prevented an attempt to smuggle hyaluronic fillers worth over 3 million dinars.

The case was discovered around midnight when a Mercedes van with Vienna license plates arrived at the entrance to the country for regular control, towing a trailer with a used import vehicle.

When customs officers asked if they had anything to declare, the 42-year-old driver from the town of Kovin in Serbia and four of his companions said they had nothing but personal belongings, while the driver also declared  a used Golf car that he wanted to import.

A detailed control of the van turned up three cardboard boxes in the trunk, which the driver said was a shipment he was transporting to Novi Sad, but was not familiar with its contents.

As soon as they opened the boxes, customs officers saw a handful of undeclared cosmetic products - hyaluronic fillers used in luxury cosmetic treatments, whose value is estimated at 3,107,619 dinars.

These were 510 cosmetic products of the Princess brand, namely: 320 pieces of "Princess Filler 1 ml", 180 pieces of "Princess Volume 1 ml"; and 10 pieces of "Princess Rich 1 ml", which are used in cosmetology for skin rejuvenation and wrinkle correction.

Since the value of the goods is higher than the value of one third of the vehicle in which it was smuggled, the van was temporarily seized until the end of the misdemeanor procedure, which also increased the value of the misdemeanor, so it amounts to just under 3.7 million dinars.

The customs thwarted an almost identical case on October 15 at the Batrovci border crossing, when a van full of unreported hyaluronic fillers and injections for non-invasive liposuction was discovered.
