House where Sava (94) was killed: "He was covered in blood, he thought he'd get murdered for money"

94-year-old Sava from Gadzzin Han was brutally killed in his family house, while the suspect in this crime, 22-year-old Miljan J. (22), has been arrested. Biljana Pesic, the woman who looked after the elderly man by visiting him every other day and helping him out, was the first to notice that something strange was happening with Sava.

"I took care of Grandpa Sava, I came every other day. I went there yesterday, it was locked. I knocked and knocked, no one answered. I went home, then his daughter called me and said that the police had informed her that he was not there, that he was not responding," Biljana starts her story.

After that, she came to Sava's house once again, where she found the police, but also Sava's daughter who gave the police the keys to the house.

"A policeman unlocked the house, went inside and said: 'He is dead.' He walked toward the street where the one who is now arrested lives. From there, he called the forensics... The policeman went there on Sunday night, it was locked. Nobody knows the reason why it happened," she says.

Although she did not see anything herself, she says that Sava's daughter Gordana, who lives in Nis, told her that everything was in covered in blood.

"He was found in his bed, lying on his side. She told me that he was covered in blood and that a blow to the head seemed to be fatal. And the reason... I don't know. He had a decent pension, which he did not take out fearing thieves, only when he needed to, as much as he needed. He would say, 'someone will kill me for money thinking I have it at home'. He would have turned 94 on January 1. He did everything by himself, he went to the store alone, I went just clean for him a little, to prepare breakfast for him," concludes Biljana.

Slobodan Krstic, Sava's first cousin, says that he was not there, and that the whole house was locked.

"There was just a light on in the bathroom. Biljana called us, and then the police came. We were forbidden from entering. What actually happened - we do not know. When the policemen came out of the house, they told us that he was dead and lying in bed," says Slobodan.

He adds that they later heard that a young man was arrested as a suspect.

"There is probably evidence, they already know that..." said Sava's cousin.

The morning after the crime, the suspect posted two photos of himself on Facebook and wrote, "Good morning, everyone."
