Dr. Kon reacts to Black Friday and 57 deaths: The one who organized it is directly responsible
While on the one hand, there have been 57 deaths from coronavirus in the previous 24 hours in Serbia, on the other, we see pictures of shoppers crowded in front of stores wanting to buy goods at a discount, after sellers have been announcing "Black Friday" for days. When asked during today's press conference whether we needed "Black Friday" Dr. Predrag Kon, an epidemiologist, said that he has no good words to say on that topic.
"I have no good words, you can hardly single out a measure and ban 'Black Friday' when you already have measures in place, the one who organized 'Black Friday' is directly responsible, if the measures are respected that could work, too, but if crowds form, the responsibility is on those who organized it," said Dr. Kon.
"I don't understand how this is most important thing today, when there have been 57 deaths, how can this be justified, all you can do is make recommendations," said the epidemiologist.
In the last 24 hours, another 7,780 people tested positive
Over the last 24 hours coronavirus was confirmed in 7,780 more people, and at the same time, 57 patients died as a result of the Covid disease.
