It's known when coronavirus vaccine will be available in Serbia
The vaccine against coronavirus will arrive in Serbia before the New Year.
"The initial doses of the vaccine against coronavirus will be in Serbia before the New Year and the first condition is that the vaccine is safe, and it will be free for our citizens," said the director of Serbia's state health insurance fund, RFZO, Sanja Radojevic Skodric, Tanjug is reporting.
She told TV Prva that it does not matter from which part of the world Serbia will receive the vaccine, but that instead the most important thing is that the first quantities are imported as soon as possible, that the vaccine is registered and that Serbian experts approve it, which means that it is completely safe for citizens.
"The vaccine means saving lives and our economy," stressed Skodric.
She added that the first doses will be received by priority groups.
Serbia has "stood in line" for the procurement of 1.8 million doses of coronavirus vaccines through the Covax system, and what's known is that the first to be vaccinated will be healthcare worker and members of the police and the army - the categories of the population for which vaccination will be mandatory.
