Simic: Serb List seriously considering leaving the current government in Pristina

The head of the parliamentary group of the Serb List, Igor Simic, announced on Wednesday that the party will most likely support toppling the current government in Pristina, led by Avdullah Hoti, because, as he said, the coalition agreement is not respected.

Simic told Index Online that deputies from the Serb List did not participate in the work of the Assembly yesterday and that they would not participate in the future either because the coalition agreement that was signed is not being respected, reports Kosovo Online.

"We have repeatedly and constructively demonstrated our commitment to acting in accordance with the interests of all citizens. We work in the interest of the citizens, we are committed to economic development and the fight against the pandemic. But, I believe they must respect us as a partner. We have a signed agreement on the table and we demand that it be respected. Due to the attitude towards the Serb List, we are seriously considering leaving the government," said Simic.

Earlier, the head of the LDK parliamentary group, Arben Gashi, told at a press conference that the Serb List, which is a partner in the ruling coalition, did not participate in Wednesday's session of the Assembly and accordingly there was no quorum to hold an extraordinary session on the Law on Economic Recovery.

"Today we tried to hold an extraordinary session for the second reading of the Law on Economic Recovery, that was prevented by some of the coalition partners and the obstructive actions of the opposition. The Serb List was not present at the session. I demand that all Kosovo MPs come and perform their constitutional duties. A part of the opposition and of the ruling coalition are taking obstructive actions," Gashi said on Wednesday.
