The Embassy of Serbia in Austria has undertaken activities to determine whether there are any Serbian citizens among the victims or those injured in an armed attack that toook place in the center of Vienna, Ambassador Nebojsa Rodic said late last night.

"We are undertaking activities to find out whether there are our citizens among the victims or injured, but at the same time we are leaving free space for actions carried out by the police, because it is still ongoing," Rodic told Tanjug.

He pointed out that, for now, the embassy has no information that there are citizens of Serbia among the victims.

Rodic also said that he was walking with his wife and children in the center of the city last night, and that he noticed that police cars with flashing lights were rushing through the central streets, which is unusual for Vienna.

"I realized immediately that something had happened, but at first I thought it was a protest by the opponents of the new coronavirus measures. However, when a helicopter appeared, it was clear that it was a more extensive operation," said Rodic.
