President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic has sent a telegram of condolences to the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) on the occasion of the death of Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral Amfilohije.

"Your Holiness, Most Holy Bishops, it was with sorrow that we received the news of the death of the Most Revered Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, Mr. Amfilohije. We express our sincere condolences and we pray to Lord to rest his soul where the righteous rest," it is stated in the telegram sent by the President of Serbia.

The metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, Amfilohije, passed away this morning at 8.20 in the Clinical Hospital Center of Montenegro. The metropolitan was admitted there on October 6 due to the worsening of his health caused by coronavirus.

Although he had been negative for the virus for 10 days, it caused bilateral diffuse pneumonia. His health condition suddenly deteriorated a few days ago, and the entire medical team was involved in his treatment.
