Epidemiologist and member of the Crisis HQ Branislav Tiodorovic says that the majority of new Covid cases in Serbia are young people aged between 20 to 40, who tolerate the disease well, but that they pose a risk to the elderly around them.

As he said, there are older and chronic patients on ventilators who have developed severe forms of the disease.

Tiodorovic told the daily Blic that Serbia expects a spike in cases in the next 10 to 15 days because young people mostly live in homes with one to two other generations, and that an increase in the number of those infected is expected.

"The problem is that there are those who do not respect the measures, but also in controlling them. It's not yet time to introduce a curfew. We are still far below the numbers around us and in Europe, because we are among the three countries that have the lowest rate per 100,000 cases," he said.
