At today's session of the Crisis HQ for combating coronavirus, its members - a day after we had a record 512 new cases in 24 hours, made the decision to further tighten control of measures, and to start applying new, antigenic tests for coronavirus in Serbia. This decision is not new, it was made on August 21 - only these tests will now start to be applied.

Immunologist Srdja Jankovic said after the HQ session that the introduction of these tests means improving the rapid diagnosis of Covid 19.

"How and in what situation they will be treated, will be specified later," said Janković.

As Professor Dr. Branislav Tiodorovic, an epidemiologist and a member of the Crisis HQ explained for our portal back in August, these are ELISA tests, which are made from blood and which have a high percentage of accuracy.

"They can accurately see if someone has an iGG faction. They are done quite quickly, it will be possible to get the result quickly, over 95, 96 percent. They are also done from the blood, only the PCR is done with a swab from the throat and nose," said Dr. Tiodorovic.
