Dacic talks about his new position: It's an honor to be at the helm of the top representative body

For every state-building politician, it is the greatest honor to be at the helm of the top representative body and the holder of constitutional and legislative power in the Republic of Serbia, SPS leder Ivica Dacic announced last tonight, after President Aleksandar Vucic said the current foreign minister would, going forward, serve as parliament speaker.

Dacic thanked Vucic for that proposal, with the message that only "a united Serbia can respond to the challenges that will lie ahead in coming period."

"Together with the President of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the National Assembly will make a key contribution to the development and the future of Serbia, in full unity that ensures stability and prosperity of the country," said Dacic.
