Starting on October 19, citizens of Serbia will not need the vehicle insurance "green card" when entering Bosnia and Herzegovina. BiH residents will also not need to carry the green card to enter Serbia.

According to the BiH media, based on the Multilateral Guarantee Agreement signed by the Green Card Bureau in BiH, that neighboring country has become a member of the so-called license plate subsystem. The agreement applies to 33 EU member states, as well as Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Andorra, Iceland, Norway, and Serbia.

With this agreement, vehicles with BiH license plates are equated with vehicles from EU member states, Switzerland, Andorra, Iceland, Norway and Serbia, which can be considered as reaching the highest motor vehicle standards in Europe, the Green Bureau in BiH points out.

Otherwise, drivers from Serbia going to all EU member states and several other European countries have not needed the green card ever since January 1, 2012, after Serbia joined the license plate subsystem in 2011. Only the registration sticker is required, which is obtained during vehicle registration.
