Video surfaces of witness statements about crimes in Kosovo handed to ex members of so-called KLA
The vice-president of the organization of war veterans of the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), Nasim Haradinaj, has published a video showing a person bringing documents with witness statements to the headquarters of that organization, to then flee.
According to Gazeta Express, Haradinaj added that this person is referred to in the organization as "Lightning 2 for the Specialist Chambers," reports Kosovo Online.
The president of the association, Hisni Gucati, told a press conference earlier today that they had been provided with documents containing witness statements, but not their names, and that the person who brought them ran away.
"We called him 'Lightning 2' because he was as fast as lightning, but we couldn't find out who it was. Two of our colleagues almost caught him to find out who that gentleman was, but he escaped. We stated earlier, 10 days ago, that the Specialist Chamber mainly cooperates with the Prosecutor's Office of Serbia, the Special War Crimes Court of Serbia. Two or three papers I have here are in Serbian and in English, so the prosecutors cooperated with Serbian prosecutors, one of them is the deputy prosecutor of the Court of Serbia, who put together files and arguments that Albanians allegedly committed crimes," Gucati told the press conference.
It was announced earlier that investigators from the Specialist Prosecutor's Office of Kosovo, based in The Hague, confiscated 4,000 files on war crimes which had been handed over anonymously to the KLA veterans' organization some time ago, Pristina newspaper Gazeta Express is reporting.
