41-year-old woman from Zrenjanin arrested on suspicion of killing her husband (39) with a knife

Members of the Ministry of the Interior in Zrenjanin today arrested S.M. (41) from Zrenjanin, on suspicion that she committed the crime of murder.

It is suspected that she stabbed her 29-year-old husband several times, using a knife. The incident happened in their family home.

The man died of his injuries in the Emergency Center of the Zrenjanin hospital.

Earlier in the day, reports said that an unidentified man had been found lying in a pool of blood in the street, in front of a house in Heroja Pinkija Street in Zrenjanin.

On the order of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in this town, the suspect will be detained for up to 48 hours after which she will be brought before the prosecutor along with a criminal complaint.

According to media reports, the couple had a fight in their house where the woman is suspected of having attacked and stabbed the man several times. He tried to run away and seek help, so he went out in the street, and fell to the ground there.

The victim was seen lying in a pool of blood by neighbors, who alerted the police and the medical emergency service. According to the neighbors, the woman worked as a teacher in an elementary school, having recently moved into the house.
