Montenegrin epidemiologist Senad Begic, assistant director of the Institute of Public Health of Montenegro, spoke about the current situation around coronavirus in the country, assessing it as "stable" but also as "extremely threatening" because the citizens have relaxed.

Begic also said that he expects that conditions will soon be met when Serbian citizens will be able to enter Montenegro without a PCR test, but he could not specify when that might happen.

"I expect that, with the possible easing of some measures, the PCR will not be the exclusive condition for entering Montenegro," the epidemiologist told TV Vijesti.

Begic also added that a double number of new patients was recorded in Serbia yesterday compared to the previous day, which he attributes to "the weekend effect".

"There are other epidemiological points - the tourist season is coming to an end, we expect that tourists will not be coming, but family will visit instead, which means that they will not be accommodated in hotels and private accommodation, but with families, which again means that the epidemiological risk will be higher and we must take care of that," he noted.

The epidemiologist warned that due to relaxation and non-compliance with measures in Montenegro, the number of patients can be expected to be significantly higher in 10 to 14 days.
