Belgrade-Pristina meeting at the White House to take place on September 4, after all
A meeting between representatives of so-called Kosovo and Serbia at the White House in Washington has been officially moved from September 2 to 4, it has been confirmed for Telegraf.rs. The news was also confirmed by a spokesman of the US National Security Council, John Ullyot.
National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien has invited the leaders of Serbia and (so-called) Kosovo to Washington on September 4. The talks have been postponed for two days due to the agenda. The United States is looking forward to these important talks with President Vucic and Prime Minister Hoti, said Ullyot.
According to him, that meeting will improve economic issues between so-called Kosovo and Serbia.
"We believe that progress in economic issues, including job creation and accelerating economic growth, is the first step in advancing the peace process," Ullyot said.
The first meeting in Washington between representatives of Kosovo and Serbia was scheduled for June 27, but was canceled after the Kosovo Specialist Chambers announced an indictment against the president of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci.
